The beautiful carnation surrounded by leaves featured on this mat is inspired by an Arts and Crafts wallpaper held in the V&A’s archives. Compton was designed in 1895–6 for Compton Hall in Wolverhampton, England, the home of Laurence Hodson, and it was probably the result of a joint effort between William Morris (1834–96) and his assistant J.H. Dearle (1859–1932). All doormats in Entryways’ V&A Collection are available in two sizes. Every Entryways mat is designed and crafted to be stylish and functional.
